Rev. Dr. Sarah Nave, Pastor
Sarah became the pastor at Covenant Church in May 2006. Sarah has degrees from Davidson College, Fuller Seminary, and Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. She met her husband, Dwight, also a Presbyterian pastor, while they were students at Fuller.
The Naves are bi-coastal, having served churches in California and Virginia, before arriving at Covenant Church. The Naves have an adult daughter, Chelsea, who lives in Bellevue, WA. There is no empty nest at their house with three rescue cats and a Great Pyrenees.
Sarah’s contemplative leaning yearns to companion the church community to a transforming sense of God’s presence, through worship, prayer and centering our lives on God. Her training as a Spiritual Director (Mercy Center, Burlingame, CA) developed her commitment to helping people experience God through spiritual practices like centering prayer, meditation or walking in sacred spaces. She is passionate about spiritual renewal through worship and noticing God in the midst of everyday life and through deepening awareness and connection with the Holy One who created us and longs to bless us.
Sarah considers it a joy to serve God with a compassionate, authentic, nimble congregation as we all seek to grow in Christ, celebrate God’s love, and extend God’s love to others. She is delighted to be part of a welcoming, inclusive church and senses that Covenant Church’s most significant experiences of encountering God’s presence and the Holy Spirit’s transforming work among them are currently unfolding.
